Dublin to Cork

We caught the 9:00 morning train from Dublin to Cork. It was a pleasant train ride which provided opportunity to relax.

We arrived in Cork and gave our presentation to
the Douglas club.
All four of the Cork clubs are hosting us and after the club meeting they took us to the Jameson Middleton Distillery where we learned about the history of whiskey making. We then travelled to Cobh, one of the largest natural harbors in the world and the location where many sailed to North American during the Great Famine. It was also the last port of call of the Titanic. The area here is beautiful and charming, and the people are so friendly to us. They really went out of their way to be thoughtful hosts, and men who drove us around--Brenard, Peter and Liam--were wonderful. They taught us a lot about Irish Time and enjoying the moment, while showing us Blarney Castle and the beautiful grounds. They patiently waited while the gals bought a few gifts for family and friends--of course they did this while soaking up the beautiful Irish sunshine we have been having. Remarkably, it has not rained since we got here!
